Soufiane El Bakkali running in his heat of the steeplechase in which he
came second to 18 year old Lamache Girma. In the final he again was
behind Lamacha, but in front of both was defending champion Conseslus
Kipruto. Even so Soufiane's time was he best ever at a major championship
and a season best. His silver medal in London 2017 timed at 8:14.49.
His personal best was 7:58.15 in 2018.
