Andreas is pictured above at the 2006 Grand Prix Final in Stuttgart. He produced a fine performance
to finish in first place with a throw of 89.50m, 1.25m clear of his nearest challenger Tero Pitkamaki.
A week later Thorkildsen represented Europe in the World Cup and once again took the honours,
his 87.17m effort well over 3m clear of Africa's Gerhardus Pienaar.
