Robert Sobera is pictured above in Amsterdam where he won the men's
pole vault with a leap of 5.60m from Jan Kudlička (also 5.60m). Renaud Lavillenie
the World record holder and three times European champion, failed three times with
his opening height of 5.75m. A first clearance of 5.60 by Lavillenie - which is all
he did to qualify for the final - would have won him the Gold. No comment !!
