Lidiya GRIGORYEVA - Russia - 2006 European Championships 10,000m bronze medal.

Lidiya Grigoryeva is pictured above crossing the line to win bronze in the final of the womens 10,000m at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Her time of 30: 32.72 was a new PB and brought her first medal at a major championship. In what was a high quality race, 19 of the first 20 athletes remarkably posted either a PB, a seasons best or a national record. The other athlete in shot is the silver medal winner, Norway's Susanne Wigene.

Lidiya Grigoryeva won the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon in a time of 2:25:10 hours (personal best) and in 2005

the Paris Marathon in 2:27:01. Her personal best over the half marathon is 1:11:01 (run in Edmonton at the 2005

IAAF World Half Marathon Championships). She was the women's 2007 Boston Marathon winner with a time

of 2:29:18, and captured the 2008 Chicago Marathon title with a 2:27:17 time.
