Lidiya Grigoryeva is pictured above crossing the line to win bronze in the final
of the womens 10,000m at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg.
Her time of 30: 32.72 was a new PB and brought her first medal at a
major championship. In what was a high quality race, 19 of the first 20
athletes remarkably posted either a PB, a seasons best or a national
record. The other athlete in shot is the silver medal winner, Norway's
Susanne Wigene. |
