Olga Golovkina pictured above during the final of the women's 5,000 metres at the 2012
European Athletics Championships in Helsinki. She won the gold medal.
She ran a 15:05.26 at the 2012 London Olympic Games for her then personal best.
In 2013 she tested positive in an out-of-competition drugs test
for use of the prohibited anabolic steroid Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone.
Golovkina was given a two-year ban from competition for her failed test, lasting
from 16 July 2013 to 1 August 2015.

In 2017 she recorded a time of 15:34.44 for 5,000 metres, in Sochi (FGUP Yug Sport)
and in Moscow the same year a time of 9:09.67 for 3,000 metres.
