Tatyana Kotova is pictured above during the final of the women's Long Jump
at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. She produced an excellent
performance to win the silver medal with a leap of 7.01m, agonisingly
just 1cm back on the gold medal winner Fiona May. At the previous year's
Olympics Games Kotova had finished in 4th place, but in December 2009
she was promoted to the bronze medal position after the gold medalist, Marion Jones, was disqualified after admitting her use of illegal substances. |
