The right hand sequence of pictures above show Tatyana racing towards
the line in the closing few metres of the womens 1500m at the 2005
World Championships in Helsinki. Tomashova won the gold in a seasons
best time of 4: 00.35, thus defending successfully the title she had won
two years earlier in Paris. Her compatriots Yuliya Chizhenko (623) and
Olga Yegerova initially finished second and third but Chizhenko was
later disqualified for obstucting Maryam Yusuf Jamal, meaning that all
athletes bar Tomashova moved up one position. |
