On 21 November 2016, the International Olympic Committee IOC announced that Yulia Zaripova
tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol on a urine sample she provided after the
women's 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the 2012 London Olympics on Aug. 6, 2012.
She was therefore removed from the result of the event and lost her gold medal.
