of the men's 800m at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki.
The fast finishing Russian, who had won the Olympic title the
previous year, stayed towards the rear of the pack but left himself
to much to do on this occasion and was unable to overhaul gold
medal winner Rashid Ramzi (113). Kenya's William Yiampoy (573)
took the bronze ahead of his compatriot Wilfred Bungei.
