After finishing second in his heat of the Men's 400 metres in Moscow Yousef Masrahi
set a new Saudi record of 44.61 when he won the second semi final,
from Tony McQuay (44.66). Though he also beat the 45 second barrier
in the Final, the first four ran either personal or seasonal best times. None the less
he got the better of the defending Champion Kirani James.
The photo above is of the 2013 Final.
He was banned from competition for four years, starting 15 June 2016,
prior to the 2016 Rio Olympics the consequence of a failed drug test.
His career ended thereupon.
