After winning the competition Armand Duplantis made three attempts to improve his own World Record
of 6.21 m. With the bar at 6.23, he just failed.
However, on Sunday 17th September 2023 at the Diamond League Final in Eugene he did clear 6.23m,
to better his own World record. The on 20th April 2024 he improved the record to 6.24m in Xiamen, China.
