The main photo above shows Susanna during the heats of the women's
100m Hurdles at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. The inset
pictures show the closing few metres of the final, with Kallur (four
from the right, lane 5) agonisingly missing out on the bronze medal by
just 1 hundredth of a second to Jamaica's Delloreen Ennis-London (2nd
right). Michelle Perry of the USA (4th left) won the gold and Canada's
Perdita Felicien (3rd right) the silver. Although Susanna suffered the
disappointment of missing out on a medal by such a small margin she did,
at least, have the consolation of carding a new PB time of 12.51 secs
in the final. |

The sequence of pictures on the right show the final of the womens
100m Hurdles at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Susanna
Kallur, who is in lane 4, won the gold medal in a time of 12.59 secs,
ahead of Ireland's Derval O'Rourke (lane 1) and Germany's Kirsten Bolm
(lane 5). The left hand photo shows a delighted Kallur shortly after
crossing the finishing line. Susanna's twin sister Jenny - who is the
eldest by four minutes - also competed in the final, finishing in
seventh place, and can be seen above in lane 7. The twins were actually
born in the USA, where their father Anders was a professional Ice Hockey
player, and spent their early years in the States before returning to
Sweden at the age of 15. |
