A second silver medal for Thobias Montler at the Championships
nearly never happened. On his sixth attempt lying 4th with his only
measured jump (8.13m,) Thobias then leapt to a National record of 8.38m
with his final leap. Tentoglou had already jumped 8.55, in the second
round, so the gold medal was never there for the taking.
