One of the more remarkable moments on the closing night of the Athletics at the
Olympic Stadium was Keshorn Walcott's win in the men's javelin. Not only did he become
the first ever teenagaer to win the event but he improved his personal best pre Games
from 80.11m (May 27th. 2012) by over four metres. He also became the first non European
to win the event since 1952 (Cy Young) and Trinidad & Tobago's second track & field Gold medallist,
after Hasely Crawford (1976 100 metres in Montreal).
He is pictured above making his final throw of the competition.
