In his semi final Yasmani Copello set a new Turkish record for the 400 metres hurdles
of 48.42 seconds. He is pictured below during that race.
While representing Cuba he won a silver medal at the 2008 Central American and Caribbean
Championships and was a gold medallst in the 4×400 metres relay team at the 2008
Ibero-American Championships. He opted for Turkish nationality in October 2013 and on
30 April 2014, he became eligible to represent Turkey internationally.
