The photo above shows the last bend with 200m to go in the womens 5000m final at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Elvan (1723) is alongside Spain's Marta Dominguez with Russia's Liliya Shobukhova leading the way. Abeylegesse took the bronze in a seasons best time of 14: 59.29, with Dominguez just pipping Shobukhova to the gold medal, the Spaniard's time of 14: 56.18 a new championship record.
