Adam NELSON - U.S.A. - 2004 Olympic Games shot put champion. 2nd in 2000.

A happy Adam is pictured above with his Shot Put silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

His effort of 21.16m was the same distance as Yuriy Bilonog but the Ukrainien took the Gold

on count back as Nelson had fouled on all his other five efforts. Remarkably it was the fourth**

successive silver that Adam had won at the Olympics & Worlds between 2000-04.

As fate would have it Bilonog was later disqualified after drugs were found in his system and Adam's

silver ** was replaced with the Gold medal. Yes, the big arm around Adam is that of Bilonog.
