Olympic triple jump champion Christian Taylor won his second World Championship
in the most dramatic of circumstances, in Beijing. With his final jump, the penultimate leap of the event,
he overtook leader Pedro Pablo Pichardo (17.52m) with a stunning distance of 18.21m for a NACAC
record (All the Americas.). The Cuba, the 2013 World Champion, responded with 17.73m
to end the competition and take the silver medal. Taylor won the title in 2011.
