Derrick is pictured above during the 400m heats at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
He went on to win the bronze medal in the final, completing an American clean sweep
behind Jeremy Wariner and Otis Harris. In the 4x400m he teamed up with Wariner,
Harris and Darold Williamson to win the Gold medal.
His best 400m time was 44.29 set in 1999.
