Chelimo qualified for the Rio Olympics after finishing third in the U.S. trials.
He ran a personal best 13:19.54 in his heat at Rio and then improved it in
the final
Paul Chelimo obtained his U.S. citizenship by joining the United States Army, as a water
treatment specialist. He then entered their World Class Athletic Program in 2014.
