Shawn CRAWFORD - U.S.A. - 2008 Olympic Games 200m silver medal

Shawn is pictured above during the heats of the mens 200m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Crawford, the defending champion after his success four years earlier in Athens, initially finished in 4th place in the final in a time of 19.96 secs. However, following the disqualification of both Churandy Martina and Wallace Spearmon, who had finished 2nd and 3rd respectively, Crawford was promoted to the silver medal position with his compatriot Walter Dix moving up from 5th to 3rd. Jamaica's Usain Bolt won the gold medal in a remarkable new world record time of 19.30 secs.
