Olympic champion Valarie Allman is pictured in Zurich at the Diamond League
meeting, where she won the women's discus with a throw of 69.20m ahead
of two times Olympic champion Sandra Perkovic 67.22m. Allaman's personal
best throw at the time was 71.16m.
In Tokyo she won with her opening throw in the final (she had three no throws,
as did all the top six throwers) and in the qualifying was one of just two who
reached the automatic qualifying distance of 64.00m. She landed at 66.42 with
her first qualifying attempt and rested there after.
