Alastair Cook is pictured above 'on the pull' during his splendid
knock of 106 in England's 2nd innings of the 3rd Test against the West
Indies at Old Trafford, Manchester in June 2007. Cook's efforts - he
also scored 60 in the 1st innings - helped England to a 60 run victory,
despite a defiant display from the Windies in their 2nd innings, which
finally saw them all out for 394 attempting what would have been a
record 4th innings run chase of 455. Alastair enjoyed a fine series with
the bat against the West Indies that summer, his 398 runs coming at an
average of 56.86, despite making only 13 & 7 in the final Test at
Chester-le-Street. Photo 10th. June 2007. G.H. ©
