(Alec is pictured above during his 100th Test match in August 2004 against the West Indies at Old Trafford. He marked the occasion in memorable fashion with a splendid 105 in England's 1st innings total of 303. The match finished in a draw but England went on to record a 3-1 series victory - their first on home soil against the Windies since 1969.)
