The main photo above shows Ben in full flow during his innings of 53 off 66 balls in the Nat West series One Day International against Pakistan at Headingley, Leeds in June 2001. The inset picture shows a proud day for the Hollioake family as Ben and brother Adam line up prior to their Test match debuts in the 5th Test against Australia at Trent Bridge in August 1997. It was the first time that brothers had represented England in the same game since Worcestershire's Peter and Dick Richardson in 1957 and they also became the only brothers to make their Test debuts together in the 20th century. Ben was also the youngest England debutant since Brian Close in 1949. Sadly Ben's life was cut tragically short when he was killed in a car crash in March 2002, he was just 24 years of age. His death  was the youngest of any England Test cricketer.
