Derek Underwood is pictured above during the match against New Zealand at the inaugural 1975 World Cup.
A fine spell of bowling from Underwood saw him take 2-30 from 12 overs, helping England to a comfortable
80 run victory. Derek took a particular liking to the New Zealanders during his 8 Test matches against them,
his 48 wickets costing just 12.21 apiece. 'Deadly' took 5 wickets in an innings no less than 6 times against
the Kiwis, including his Test best figures of 7-32 in his first match against them at Lord's in 1969.
Derek Underwood died on 15th April 2024 aged 78.
