The pictures above show Graeme Swann during his fine knock of 47 not out in England's 1st innings of the 1st Test against Australia at Sofia Gardens, Cardiff in July 2009. Swann's efforts helped England amass a total of 435 but Australia responded with a mammoth total of 674 and only a last wicket partnership, lasting 69 minutes, between Jimmy Anderson and Monty Panesar staved off defeat. Swann's contribution should not be overlooked however, his gritty knock of 31 in 63 balls eating up an invaluable 73 minutes.
