James ANDERSON - England - Test Record v India. 2006-2016.

Jimmy Anderson as he had never been seen before !   In the first Test against India at Trent Bridge, Jimmy not only

scored a superb 81 (his first ever First Class 50),  but he and Joe Root set a new 10th wicket world record of 198 runs !

They beat the previous record of 163, set one year earlier, also at Trent Bridge, by Australia's Phillip Hughes and Ashton Agar.

Jimmy batted for three hours fifty minutes, the longest innings by a Number 11 batsman in Test history, and he erased John Snow's

previous England best by a number 11 of 59 (Oval 1966).   As the images above indicate he hooked, drove, reversed swept and

dare one say it had the time of his life.  Jimmy hit seventeen fours.  Root was 154 not out and hit fifteen fours.

They came together when England were 298 for 9 (159 behind India) and left with England 39 ahead. The image at the bottom

of the above montage is Joe congratulating Jimmy on his half century. The 2018 five Test series against India has it's

own page.
