(Mark is pictured above during his knock of 40 in England's 1st innings of the 4th Test against Australia at Headingley in August 2001. England scored 315-4 in the 2nd innings to win by 6 wickets after Australian captain Adam Gilchrist had somewhat generously declared at 176-4. Ramprakash produced his best performances against the Australians, averaging 42.41 in his 12 matches against them at a time when they were far and away the dominant force in Test cricket. This was compared to his overall average of 27.33 in 52 matches, a disappointing return for such a talented batsman.)
