Monty Panesar is pictured above during the 1st Test of the 2009 Ashes series against Australia at Cardiff
in July 2009. Panesar will be best remembered in this match for producing a defiant, match saving last wicket
rearguard action in partnership with Jimmy Anderson; the pair batting out the final 69 balls - with Panesar
scoring 7 not out - to secure England a draw in a nailbiting finale. Alas for Monty he would not feature again
during that series but his battling performance played no small part in England regaining the Ashes that summer.
