The pictures above show Steve Harmison during his spell of 17.3-3-62-2
in the 2nd Test against Australia at Edgbaston, Birmingham in August
2005. It was a truly incredible game of Test cricket, with England
finally winning by just 2 runs when Steve took the wicket of Michael
Kasprowicz. At one stage England appeared to be cruising, with
Australia, needing 282 for victory, struggling at 137-7.
The tail wagged
furiously though to set up the nailbiting finale, number 9 Shane Warne
making 42, number 10 Brett Lee adding a vital 43 and then Kasprowicz,
batting as if his life depended on it, made 20 before Harmison produced a
brute of a delivery to have him caught behind by wicket-keeper Geraint
Jones and bring to an end one of the most remarkable Test matches in
Ashes history. England went on to win the series 2-1 in what was their
first Ashes series win since way back in 1986/87. Steve's statistics
include 1 Test playing for the ICC against Australia (14th-17th October
2005) at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
