Dean ELGAR - South Africa - 2017 Four Test series in England.

Dean Elgar played in all four tests against England in 2017. He is pictured here batting for

South Africa in their first innings, in the second Test, at Trent Bridge, where he scored just 6.

He made amends in the second innings with 80 (only Amia, with 87, scored more). In all the Tests

he scored as follows : 54 & 2 : 6 & 80 : 8 & 136 : 0 & 5.  He made one catch at The Oval where he

also bowled three overs for 28 runs.

England won the series 3-1.

 

 

1st Test. 6–10 July 2017.  England v South Africa.  Lord's, London. England won by 211 runs.

Joe Root made the highest score by an England batsman in their first Test as captain.
Moeen Ali (Eng) became the fifth-fastest player, in terms of matches played, to score 2,000 runs and take 100 wickets in Tests.

in a match since Ian Botham took 13 wickets and scored 114 runs against India in the Golden Jubilee Test in 1980.

This was South Africa's biggest loss in terms of runs in a Test in England.
