Barry Horne had a first-class degree in chemistry from the University of Liverpool.
He was director of football and teacher of chemistry and physics at
The King's School, Chester. His media work included a football column in the Liverpool Echo.
In 2011 he was appointed to the board of directors of Wrexham Football Club after the club
was taken over by its Supporters Trust.
