In 2004 Nigel Pepper joined non league Barrow. He remained with the club until his 
retirement from football in 2008. 
After retiring Nigel studied for a teaching degree and worked as a Social Worker
 for the City of York Council helping to rehabilitate young offenders.
Pepper married wife Tracey and had three children, Ryan, Jordan-Leigh and Elle.
 In 2001 Elle made a successful recovery after being diagnosed with Leukemia.
