A fan's favourite at Ashton Gate, Mann was also part of the Ashton Gate Eight,
who on February 3rd 1982 tore up their contracts to save the club from financial
ruin. The eight were Jimm Mann, Geoff Merrick, Gerry Sweeney, Dave Rodgers,
Peter Aitken, Chris Garland, Trevor Tainton and Julian Marshall.
Jimmy Mann died on 15th May 2025 aged 73.

After retiring from football Jimmy Mann returned to his hometown of Goole
as a mobile security officer for Securicor, then as a Co-op milkman and from 1994 a marine
operator at Goole Docks.
