Local lad Aidan Butterworth came up through the ranks at Elland Road, signing professional forms in
May 1980. He scored 15 league goals for United, with his best campaign being 1982/83, when he
netted 11 goals in 38 league games. He moved on to Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 1984.
He is pictured above during the 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 2nd January 1982
in the 3rd round of the F.A. Cup.
