Alfie Haaland joined Leeds United for £1.6m from Nottingham Forest in July 1997. He was never really
able to establish himself as a regular at Elland Road and after playing just thirteen League games in
the 1999-2000 season he decided the time was right for a new challenge. Joe Royle offered him the
chance of regular first-team football at Manchester City and the Norwegian duly signed for a fee of £2.5m.
Alfie is pictured above during the 1-1 draw against Stoke City.
