Premier League Champions. - 2015/16.

Leicester City Football Club: The Foxes. Premier League Champions 2015/16.

The most amazing result of the Premiership's history up to that season.

Leicester's odds at the beginning of the season to win the title were: 5,000 to 1.

It had been 21 years since any team other than Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City

or Manchester United had won the Premiership.

Only three other Premiership Teams cost less than Leicester City squad in 2015/16.

When Leicester beat Manchester City (3-1 away) it was calculated that

the two team that night had cost £25m (LCFC) and £250 (MCFC) respectively.

SPORTING HEROES.

Four of the Leicester team, Wes Morgan, N'Golo Kanté, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy

were selected, by their peers in the Professional Footballers Association, as members of their Team of the Year.

Mahrez himself was awarded the  PFA Player of the Year award.

The Football Writers Association voted for Vardy as their player of the season.

Leicester lost just three games all season. Twice to Arsenal (2-5 home) (2-1 away) and

Liverpool 1-0 away.

The total amount each team  cost = £££££.

Leicester City had never won the top division title before in their 132 year history.

They had won the lower division titles on numerous times including the 2nd. division

(known at the time as the Championship) in 2013/14.

The season before they were looking like relegation certs when they were the bottom team

with just weeks remaining of the season. (Hence the 5,000 to 1 odds quoted at the start of 2015/16.

Below is what happened.
