Rodney Fern died on 16th. January 2017 aged 69. He had dementia.

Rodney Fern played in the 1969 FA Cup Final against Manchester City. He was a pupil,
and near contemporary, team mate David Nish at Ashby Grammar School, before going
on to play for Measham Social Welfare.
From there he joined Leicester City, for whom he signed in December 1966, aged 18.
