Gary Gillespie moved to Liverpool from Coventry City in the summer of
1983 for a fee of £325,000.
His first season saw him make just one
first team appearance - a League Cup semi-final against Walsall -
and it
was not until the 1986-87 campaign that he really established himself
in the starting line-up.
He is pictured above during the 1-1 draw
against Sheffield Wed. on 16/11/1986.
