Lee Jones moved to Liverpool, aged 18, however, he only managed
three league appearances in five years, in part due to suffering two broken legs.
He was loaned out to Crewe, twice back to Wrexham, before transferring to
Tranmere Rovers in 1996/97. He spent three years with Tranmere.
In July 2000 he moved onto Barnsley but in 2002 he returned to
Wrexham for a fourth spell.
