Cameroon international Rigobert Song arrived at Anfield in January 1999 after impressing
at the previous summer's World Cup. Song had also played for his country at the 1994 finals
aged just 17. His stay at Liverpool was fairly short-lived and he moved on to West Ham in
November 2000 for a fee of £2, 500, 000, Liverpool making a loss of £100,000 on the player.
