The pictures above show Gary Neville during the 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion on New Years Day 2011.
This would prove to be Gary's last game in professional football as he announced his retirement from the game
on 2nd February 2011. In a glittering career spanning the best part of two decades, Neville won eight Premier League
titles, three FA Cups, two European Cups, two League Cups, an Intercontinental Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.
The 2006 League Cup, which was won courtesy of a 4-0 win over Wigan, was Gary's first trophy as captain after he
had been handed the role by Alex Ferguson following Roy Keane's departure. Neville made a total of 602 appearances
for United which, at the time of his retirement, placed him fifth on the club's all time appearance list behind only
Ryan Giggs, Sir Bobby Charlton, Bill Foulkes and Paul Scholes. Gary also represented his country on 85 occasions which,
on retirement, comfortably made him England's most capped right back, Phil Neal (50) being his nearest challenger.
A selection of photographs can be seen below this table of Gary's nineteen seasons as
a Manchester United first team player.
