Ryan GIGGS - Manchester United - UEFA Champions League Final 2008

The bottom right photo above shows Ryan and Rio Ferdinand (out of shot) holding aloft the Champions League trophy

after the penatly shoot-out win against Chelsea on 21st May 2008. It was Giggs that scored what proved to be the winning

penalty when he calmly slotted home United's seventh kick and he can be seen celebrating the moment in the bottom left picture.

Of those seven only one was missed and when Edwin Van Der Sar saved Chelsea's next kick from Nicolas Anelka United had won

the trophy for the third time in their history. The main photo above shows the United players at the very moment that Van Der Sar

has saved Anelka's kick and the expressions on their faces say it all ! The game saw Ryan eclipse Bobby Charlton's long standing

appearance record of 758 Manchester United games in all competitions and what a fitting finale that it should be the Welshman

who scored what turned out to be the winning kick.
