The main photo above shows a delighted Anderson holding aloft the

Champions League trophy after Manchester United's victory in the final

against Chelsea on 21st May 2008. United won 6-5 on penalties after

the match had finished 1-1 a.e.t. Anderson only came on a last minute

sub for defender Wes Brown - clearly so that he could take a penalty if

the need arose - and he held his nerve admirably to score with United's

sixth penalty, putting them ahead 5-4. Saloman Kalou then equalised

for Chelsea, but Ryan Giggs quickly restored the lead and when

Nicolas Anelka missed with the next kick the cup was United's for the

third time in their history.
