Ian Storye-Moore moved to Old Trafford in a £200,000 deal from Nottingham Forest in March 1972,
a month after a bizarre incident in which he had actually been paraded by Derby County as a
new signing only for the move to fall through. Storey-Moore made an immediate impact at United,
scoring in his first three outings to inspire the Red Devils to three consecutive victories.
Sadly Ian's career was cut short by injury and he retired in December 1973, aged only 28.
He is pictured above during the 3-1 away defeat to Birmingham City.
