Alessandro Pistone joined Newcastle United in July 1997 from Italian
giants Inter Milan, with the Magpies paying £4,500,000 for the young
defender. It was not a particularly happy stay at St. James' Park for
the Italian and, after playing 46 League games in three seasons, he
moved on to Everton for a fee of £3 million. The pictures above show
Alessandro in action during the 1-1 draw against Leeds United on 22nd
February 1998.
