John Tudor arrived at St. James' Park from Sheffield United in January 1971 in an exchange deal
involving John Hope and David Ford. He initially struggled to win over the United faithful but his
Newcastle career was transformed upon the arrival of Malcolm MacDonald. The pair struck up a
fine partnership over the next four seasons until injury and a change of manager saw Tudor move
on to Stoke City in October 1976 for a fee of £30,000.
John is pictured above during the 3-0 win against Scunthorpe in the 4th round replay
of the F.A. Cup.
