Ian Gillard is pictured during the 2-0 win against Aston Villa on 31/1/1976. The victory over Villa was the
start of a tremendous run until the end of the season which saw Rangers win 13 of their last 15 games.
Despite this remarkable effort Rangers were pipped to the title by Liverpool, agonisingly by just 1 point.
