Ken Knighton parted with £100,000 to bring Chris Turner to Roker Park from his hometown
club Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 1979. Chris spent six years on Wearside, playing
a total of 223 games in all competitions, before a £275,000 dream move to
Manchester United in August 1985.
